Amateur Football League (AFL) is an organization sanctioned by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to govern amateur-level football.

AFL was established in 2018 with efforts to grow the sport at the grassroots level in Malaysia, launching its first competition in 2019. AFL is now headquartered in Petaling Jaya.

Led by the AFL Datuk Wira Mohd Yusoff bin Mahadi, AFL believes that it is our responsibility and our vision To Champion and Protect the people’s game as the Nation’s main unifying sport.

In line with our vision, AFL aims to:

  • Form a network of football leagues throughout the country
  • Establish and maintain meaningful commercial partnerships
  • Establish a clear pathway for amateur players, coaches and clubs
  • Exploit the potential of broadcasting in local football
  • Build a foundation which supports Professional Football (Liga Super & Liga Premier)
  • Promote community-based football
  • Increase participation at grassroots level
  • Establish and implement developmental elements in our competitions
