Dodol is a type of sweet dessert that originated from West Java, Indonesia. Nowadays, Dodol is very famous in Melaka and can be found around Klebang, Melaka.

It is also one of the main traditional food for the Malay community during the month of Ramadan when they would be fasting and Syawal for the celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The making of Dodol is very complicated as it requires a lot of patience. Usually, Dodol is made by the elderly because they are more skilled and experienced in every preparation phase.

Dodol is produced from a mixture of coconut milk, glutinous rice flour, granulated sugar, Gula Melaka, water, and salt. After that, this ingredient will be mixed for about 3 to 4 hours at a high temperature. Optimal temperature is required during the process of stirring the Dodol.

As a result, the Dodol structure will turn sticky, thick, and sweet. Dodol can be found in various versions of colors (dark brown, green, and yellow) and flavors (durian, coconut, and banana).
