Melaka’s Chinatown is located along Jonker Street, where back in the past when the Dutch left, it transformed into an aristocrat’s street. Peranakan from the upper class started to live and do business there, hence leaving traces of history, ethnic and architecture that can still be seen today along the street.

Now, Jonker Walk is famous for its art galleries, antique shops including goldsmiths, watchmakers, clippers, beaded shoemakers, food stores, and more. Jonker Walk is also one of the tourist attractions no matter from within or outside the country because the prices of goods sold by traders there are very reasonable.

Every weekend around 5 pm, the road will be closed for the night market (flea market) which will usually be open until midnight. It really is a place where the culture and tradition of Melaka can be seen in every corner of the small shops that line this road.

Operation Hour : Open 06:00 pm – 12:00 am (Friday – Sunday) & Closed on Monday – Thursday only.

Address : Jonker Walk, Jalan Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka.
